June Updates

It was an eventful Saturday morning on June 14, when the Hope Avenue team, with Ashwani as our captain joined 30,000 people at Raleigh for a 5k walk. I would like to thank all of you who joined hands to support Hope Avenue to form a team. We have collectively contributed $800 for this cause.

It was wonderful to have our youth members - Shona, Aditi, Mayuri & Priyanka Hawaldar for coming out there on a weekend morning and making a difference. You are all great role models !

Thanks to our sponsor, Tamarind restaurant for our very special t-shirts and the fundraising dinner. Thanks to Ashwani Kaul, our team captain, for being perseverant and taking the lead on this !

It motivates us to repeat this again for yet another cause! Please feel free to share your experiences. Hope to see you all soon.

It was a lot of fun to see the little busy hands measuring and designing the wired bracelets. Melissa, from Irie jewellery did a tremendous job of teaching and helping the adults & children with bracelets design and finishing. We plan to do this again very soon! If any of you have problems with the bracelets, please remember to keep them together in a Ziploc and approach Hope Avenue, since we have the right tools & talent to get it fixed.

We made 50 bracelets in the workshop, which will be given as GIFTs for an estimated donation of $150.

Thanks again for yet another experience with our youth members & help them contribute to a worthy cause!

It was a blast with 10 children who participated in the Summer workshop week and came up with an all original show called "Magic of Hope". The children wore different hats for the show. There were directors, script writers, artists, music enthusiasts and dancers to amaze us, parents and volunteers alike. We saw enthusiastic children to budding leaders.

Hope to host many more workshops in the future.

Young minds were busy at work. Neyha Shankar shared an experiment with the group. They also made a pin wheel using Origami. The group quizzed each other about the world around them during the geo-bee session. Fun & learning packed in an afternoon!
